Phil has significant experience in working with children and young people who experience learning difficulties, and/or emotional and behavioural difficulties (and their families).

He is also a Member of the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development and is skilled in offering professional development and organisational consultancy to organisations wishing to review management and practice issues which involve a psychological dimension.

Phil can offer the following services to support services for children and young people:

Theraputic help and support for children and young people with learning difficulties and/or emotional and behavioural difficulties. Short or long-term psychotherapy can be arranged to provide an opportunity for the child or young person to express and explore difficult feelings which may be influencing their behaviour, relationships and well-being. Phil is experienced in working with individuals with little or no spoken language. He is also able to offer specific anger management strategies.

Consultancy support and advice to schools and other organisations working with people with special needs; including:
-identifying emotional needs
-devising institutional plans to meet these needs
-offering professional development for staff in understanding the emotional lives of their pupils more fully, and meeting their
needs accordingly
-helping staff protect their own well-being and further develop their understanding and skills.

Phil can also offer a unique Jungian approach to organisational
development. This includes:

A special consultancy audit to identify psychological influences at work within an organisation, so as to support more effective and happy - team-working, as well as clarified goals for the work it does.

A model for understanding what may be going on at a psychological level within an organisation, which applies useful Jungian concepts such as complexes, archetypes, shadow and intra-/extra-version to identify strengths and weaknesses, as well as offering tools for staff members to see difficulties before they become damaging – and be able to act to get more positive ways of working established.

An online course Phil is piloting:

‘Using Jung in the Workplace’

this course offers the chance to learn more about the relevance of Analytical Psychology (as founded by C.G.Jung)for making the workplace a more effective and psychologically healthy environment.
